We ended the work week by taking Angie into Hollywood this afternoon for an audition. Hollywood, for those of you not familiar with the area, is a 30 minute hop, skip and a jump from where we live in Valencia. The audition took place in a really cool 50s ranch style home just off of Melrose Avenue. The waiting area was filled with actors young and old... pretty much all with stars in their eyes. Well, except for Angie. We're pretty nonchalant about all of this and don't pursue it like many others do. But Angie enjoys it so when an audition comes up that we think is a good fit for her we'll try and make it. I read somewhere that an actor on average books one out of one hundred auditions... so we usually go in to these things thinking it would be nice if she books it but not expecting it. The life of an actor.
I love this photo. Angie and a few other actors were "on deck" waiting for their turn. It was a dark hallway and you could see and feel the anxiety. This is a story being told through body language. I know it looks like Angie (in the middle with her head bowed) is deep in thought but more likely she was checking out her toe or a piece of lint on the ground. But I kind of like how it makes her look like an actor contemplating her role.
