Santa Barbara Family Photographer - Rincon Beach

We recently spent the day at Rincon Beach - an amazing slice of sand nestled between Ventura and Santa Barbara. The equation is always the same:  Angie + Friends + Beach = Nonstop Fun!  This photo of Angie (second from left) and her friends sums up the free-spirited fun pretty nicely.

Los Angeles Family Photographer - The Family Portrait

What do I love about being a Los Angeles family photographer?  It's several things, actually.  But primarily I love having the opportunity to spend a morning or afternoon with an amazing family... getting to know them and seeing firsthand the unique dynamics that make them the family they are.  And then capturing that.  There are as many different types of families as there are different types of people... each family has its own personality.  The family I photographed last weekend could be summed up in one word... FUN!  It was two hours of joking around and laughing.  They ribbed and teased each other as only close siblings could.  And their laughter and energy was infectious!  By the end of the session they had me spinning in circles and climbing up trees.  Literally.

I posted a teaser to this session a couple days ago.  Enjoy the full set!

Santa Clarita Family Portrait Photographer - Brothers and Sisters

It was a perfect morning for an amazing portrait session with Chris, Shawn, Sami and Alexis.  I scouted out this location a few days earlier and knew it would be absolutely perfect.  These kids (and I say that in reference to their ages only since the older ones tower over me!) were so fun to spend the morning with. The gentle - and not so gentle - ribbing that went on between the three older sibs was hilarious.  It was two hours of joking around and laughing.  And creating stunning imagery.  Enjoy this teaser.

Santa Clarita Portrait Photographer

One of the things that amazes me about Santa Clarita is how close we are to spectacular outdoor settings... settings that are incredibly wild and rustic.  I was in one such place today.  While hiking I ran into a gentleman named Norm, who was also on a morning hike.  After talking to him a bit about the history of the area he agreed to let me take a few shots of him.  Photographing trees and scenery is fun and all but at my core I am a lifestyle photographer that is happiest photographing people.

Los Angeles Family Photographer - MOCA Geffen Contemporary

Spent a fun afternoon at the Geffen Contemporary in downtown Los Angeles, in Little Tokyo. The oddly colored photos were taken in the "color rooms." The colored light had a strange affect... the corners of the rooms seemed to disappear. One of our favorite exhibits was an installation made up of thousands of hanging vinyl strands - like blue spaghetti. Walking through it was like swimming through blue kelp. A day filled with thought-provoking art... our favorite kind of day!

Getty Museum Portrait Photography

We visited the Getty Villa in Malibu recently.  I guess you might call the architectural style "Ancient Greek Contemporary," lol.  The lush grounds are absolutely beautiful.  I couldn't resist the opportunity to take a few photos of Rachel and Angie.  I strongly recommend a visit to both Getty locations if you haven't been.
