Jenchi Wu Atkinson Gallery

Some photos from Jenchi's ceramic installation opening reception at the Atkinson Gallery located on the Santa Barbara Community College campus. Despite the stormy weather the reception enjoyed an amazing turnout. Thanks to everyone that attended - friends, colleagues and students. Special thanks to Dane Goodman - Atkinson Gallery Director - for his amazing support and vision.

Please stop by to check it out - it runs through March 25, 2011. 721 Cliff Drive, Santa Barbara CA 93109

Los Angeles Children Photographer - How to Photograph Best Friends In The Wild

Photographing the elusive North American Child in the wild can be a daunting experience.  It's not for the faint of heart.  One second they're here, the next second they're there.  Trying to keep more than a few of them together can be like herding cats.  When best friends get together, posing in front of the camera isn't necessarily the first thing that's on their minds.  Or the second.  Or the third.  You have to follow the flow - picking and choosing your moments - and occasionally creating them.  Push it too far and you will definitely lose them. But you'll catch some fun, memorable moments if you're well-camouflaged, unobtrusive, patient, and persistent.  And what is the biggest secret to successfully photographing your quarry?  Keep it fun!

The Wedding Guestbook

Here's a beautiful 10" x 10" guestbook I designed for Michelle and Scott's wedding.  It started with the photos taken during their engagement session in Redondo Beach, California. I then created page layouts using these engagement photos. Notice how the layouts allow plenty of room for the guest signatures. The book itself has a durable but beautiful image-wrapped canvas cover. The photos inside are printed on Art Paper - a heavy, 80lb water color-like paper. The pages are 'lay-flat' pages with a micro-gutter separating them.  The Art Paper and printing process is archival, meaning it is acid free and fade resistant.  And because of the textured paper it is very resistant to ink smears.  I also include two smear-resistant archival pens with each guestbook.

A Mitchel Wu Photography custom-designed wedding guestbook is destined to become a cherished keepsake from your wedding.
