I had a great time photographing Richard and Laura's wedding yesterday with friend and fellow photographer Frank Sopapunta. The bride and groom got ready at a nearby hotel before boarding the Pacific Avalon Ambassador yacht in Newport Harbor for the ceremony. The couple said their vows as family and friends looked on and the sun set behind them. Mazel tov!!

Gallery Opening
Last night we attended a group show opening that Rachel is participating in. It was held at the PS Zask Gallery in Palos Verdes and was curated by Tracey Weiss (great job, Tracey!).

A shot of Rachel's work in the PS Zask Gallery: On the left wall, "nonconFORM." Left center, "Rebirth." Right center (three hanging strands), "DNA (Don't Nudge Art)." And right (hanging form), "Who Knows."
There was a great variety of work to see and very good turnout.
Rachel and Oxnard College colleague and friend, Janet Neuwalder
Rachel and Angie with Joe and Patricia Brandon.
Some nice wide angle distortion... Angie and I never tire of creating "big head" photos!
The end of another fantastic event.

Gallery Portraits
On Saturday Rachel, Angie and I spent five hours at the PS Zask Gallery in Rancho Palos Verdes installing several of Rachel's pieces for a group show beginning this Saturday evening. It's going to be an incredible show as each artist is bringing their A-Game. Following the installation we drove to Pomona for another show Rachel is participating in. Here's a few portraits I was able to take as time permitted.

How Are You?
This is the de-installation of "How Are You," a public installation on the Oxnard College campus created by Rachel's beginning, intermediate and advanced students. Students were asked to write down the answer to the usually superficial question "How are you" on a small ceramic tablet. The responses ranged from the glib to the very honest. These tablets were then hung from several trees in a central common area. The project successfully broke down barriers as students and faculty from different disciplines and departments participated. After the de-installation the tablets were collected in a large ceramic jar for presentation to Oxnard College for posterity.
