I had an amazing time photographing Susan and Michael's uber-cool wedding last weekend with my friend, William Ines. The day started at the Sheraton Universal where we spent several hours photographing the "getting ready" shots. We then spent some time in the ultra-hip lobby of the Sheraton where we caught Michael's "first look" at Susan... a truly amazing moment. Then it was a quick drive to the beautiful Calamigos Equestrian in Burbank, where the ceremony and reception took place. By now the weather had turned a little damp but you would never have known it by the warmth and energy inside the Calamigos. Congrats Susan and Michael!

Rachel, Angie and I had a magical day in Long Beach. We began our day with a visit to the Museum of Latin American Art. We'd never been to this museum before and absolutely loved it. The museum is contemporary and spacious. Most of the photos here were taken in their beautiful sculpture garden. After we got our art fix we fed our appetite for some pop culture and caught "Sherlock Holmes" at a nearby cineplex. I'll spare you my review but Angie and Rachel loved it. To finish off the day I attended a wedding vendor mixer at wedding planner extraordinaire Trini Randazzo's Nozza Studio (www.nozzastudio.com) in downtown Long beach. Trini is a superb event planner with a beautiful shop where she also creates amazing invitations and announcements. I hope to collaborate with Trini on some events in the future. To cap off our amazing day it was a very fast drive back home. An hour drive to and from Long Beach on the 405 and 710 is simply incredible! It was one of those days you wished would never end...
Testing a lens I got for a wedding I'm shooting this Sunday. Canon 35L 1.4. It creates absolutely beautiful images. Well, perhaps "goofy images" is the correct term in this case!
We just had the most memorable new years ever thanks to our good friends Jeff and Laura and their twin girls Chloe and Camryn. They invited us to camp with them in their new trailer at Rincon Beach, just south of Santa Barbara. All of the comforts of home literally feet from the Pacific Ocean. In fact, at high tide the waves were lapping at our feet. One wave in particular doused our morning campfire - we were that close. The kids had an incredible time on the beach. The weather was in the low 70s so they were able to romp around in the waves in their swimming suits. The tide-pooling was excellent as well. We spotted countless pelicans and a pair of dolphins just beyond the waves. Rachel created her trademark sand spirals and of course we both created rock sculptures... which the high tides loved to topple over. The sunsets were nothing short of spectacular. The sunset photos above are straight out of the camera - no digital color enhancement. Southern Californian winters are magical.
